Are you tired of getting jumped or beat up? Well, that’s exactly the situation I was in at 15 years old. I decided to take matters into my own hands and enrolled in Karate; but, it was not what I looking for. This is where Boxing entered my life because it was more to the point and offensive. I started training under Rafael Delgado at Champions Boxing Club. I trained for a year before stepping into the ring for the first time. Unfortunately, my initial fight opportunities were short lived as I broke my hand twice within the next year. Another unfortunate event was when the gym shut down and I was forced to seek out other gyms where I became a training/sparring partner for other fighters preparing
for their matches. A short time later, I left the sport I loved which ultimately ended up in me gaining way too much weight. I returned sporadically but in September 2006, I committed myself to train in Boxing and added Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to drop this weight. When I came to Alberta, I started competing in Boxing and BJJ with 5 exhibition matches and 1 amateur MMA fight with Hard Knocks Fighting Championship.

I have been coaching for the last 1˝ years and get personal satisfaction from watching others succeed in the sport they choose, whether it’s Boxing, MMA or BJJ. Coaching allows me the ability to assist others in the development, improvement and refinement of their skills. Rafael helped my stay out of trouble
as a young adult and is a positive influence in my life. He is a perfectionist who believed that win or lose there was always something to work on. In the future, I want to obtain my coaching certification in Boxing and corner fighters.

I am expanding my own abilities as a fighter and a student in other disciplines such as BJJ and Muay Thai. BJJ is now a part of my lifestyle in which I plan to invest much time training, competing and advancement. Because I compete, I practice what I preach. I moved to Edmonton to train under Luke
Harris and Ryan Jimmo who I think can help me obtain my goals of stepping up to the next level as a competitor and coach.

While on vacation or out of the Edmonton area, I seek out local training centres or gyms to expand myself and get additional experiences/training techniques from many different people.
